Just completed round 1 of the Hobbit Build parts order. 1977 has some sick prices right now and Treats emailed me back saying that they would pricematch, but now allow to combine with the treatout coupon.

I’m looking for any advise on case matching and porting. Not certain what to do with the exhaust at this point either; I figure I’ll just run the proma while I break-in the kit.

The transfers on the stock Hobbit case are already pretty big, but you should definitely match them all the way to the Athena’s transfers. That setup with the Proma will have insane troque for wheelie’n. If you want to make better use of that huge intake + carb and Athena cylinder, you should go with a pipe that has a shorter, larger diameter header and bigger chamber like the Motomatic Destroyer or a Weakends pipe. Or get a Calibrata for Vespa and hack’n weld it to fit a Hobbit.

You will find that pipe very limiting in the long run. Initially it’ll be fine but you’ll find that the powerband dies off before you’ve gained the speed and RPMs that the rest of the setup can and should produce. Either of the Motomatic pipes should be dreamy on it. Or, if you aren’t sold on the baller status hand made crazies I’d like to see someone try out the Gianelli derbi pipe on their hobbit. Ffreddie told me he ran one with better result that his destroyer on a hobbit. Also, they apparently take a true minimum of modification to bolt up.
Please also consider tires and brakes.

I’m trying to get word out that my friend, Kiisu’s moped got stolen today (12/5/11) from SE 81st and Bybee. It’s a very distinctive moped – a red 76 Clinton with a modified top tank and seat.
